Carrier Infinity Thermostat Setup & Programming Guide

Comprehensive guide to programming and configuring your Carrier Infinity smart thermostat system control.

Required Tools

Basic Navigation

Learn how to navigate the Infinity control interface.

Steps:

  1. Touch anywhere on the screen to activate the home display
  2. Current room temperature appears in large numbers in center
  3. Access menus via buttons at bottom of control (flip down the door)
  4. Main buttons: SCHEDULE, ADVANCED, BASIC

Set Date & Time

Configure the system clock for accurate scheduling.

Steps:

  1. Press the BASIC button
  2. Navigate to 'Time/Date' option
  3. Set correct time and date for your location
  4. Select time zone from the menu (US and Canada zones available)
  5. Touch SAVE when complete

Wi-Fi Setup (Optional)

Connect to WiFi for remote control via the Infinity app.

Steps:

  1. Tap the Wireless icon
  2. Tap the Enabled button
  3. Choose 'Setup a Wi-Fi Connection'
  4. Touch 'Scan for Available Access Points'
  5. Select your WiFi network from the list
  6. Tap Next and enter your network password
  7. Download the free Infinity app for remote control

Programming Weekday Schedule

Set up your automatic temperature schedule for weekdays.

Steps:

  1. Flip down the door at bottom of control
  2. Press the SCHEDULE button
  3. Ensure 'WEEKDAYS' appears at top of screen
  4. Use LEFT or RIGHT buttons to navigate if needed
  5. The schedule has 4 periods: WAKE, DAY, EVENING, SLEEP
  6. Use SCROLL button to highlight each period
  7. Use TEMP (+/-) buttons to set desired temperature for each period
  8. Touch SAVE when complete

Programming Individual Days

Customize schedules for specific days of the week.

Steps:

  1. Press SCHEDULE button
  2. Use LEFT/RIGHT buttons until desired day name appears (SUNDAY, MONDAY, etc.)
  3. Set temperatures for each period (WAKE, DAY, EVENING, SLEEP)
  4. Use COPY function to duplicate schedule to other days
  5. To copy: After programming a schedule, access COPY screen
  6. Use SCROLL button to highlight days to copy to
  7. Confirm to apply schedule

Mode Settings

Select your system operating mode.

Steps:

  1. Touch Mode button (top right corner) to select:
  2. Cool - Air conditioning only
  3. Heat - Furnace/boiler only
  4. Auto - Switches between A/C and heat automatically
  5. Fan Only - Air circulation without heating/cooling
  6. Off - System completely off

Temperature Holds

Override your schedule temporarily or permanently.

Steps:

  1. Temporary Hold: Use Up (▲) and Down (▼) buttons to adjust temperature
  2. System enters temporary hold mode
  3. Use buttons to change hold duration (15-minute increments)
  4. Touch DONE to confirm
  5. To return to schedule: Touch HOLD UNTIL then select resume option
  6. Permanent Hold: Press HOLD button to lock current temperature
  7. Temperature stays fixed until you press RUN to resume schedule

  • Temporary holds are great for one-time adjustments without changing your whole schedule

Vacation Mode

Save energy while you're away from home.

Steps:

  1. Access VACATION settings from main menu
  2. Set desired away temperatures (heating and cooling)
  3. Set duration of vacation (start and end dates)
  4. Press VACATION button to activate
  5. Confirm by pressing RIGHT button for YES
  6. You have 15 minutes to make changes after activation
  7. To cancel early: Press VACATION button again and confirm

Humidity Control

Manage indoor humidity for comfort (if equipped).

Steps:

  1. Press ADVANCED button
  2. Navigate to HUMIDITY screen
  3. Use TEMP (+/-) buttons to set desired humidity level (typically 30-50%)
  4. Press ADVANCED or close door to exit and save

What temperature settings save the most energy?

For heating, set to 68-70°F when home and 62-65°F when away or sleeping. For cooling, set to 78°F when home and 82-85°F when away. Each degree of adjustment can save 3-5% on energy bills.

How do I reset my Carrier Infinity thermostat?

Access the ADVANCED menu (hold button for 10+ seconds for installer menu), then select Reset options. You can reset Program Schedule, User Settings, Install Settings, or Last 10 Events individually.
