Replaced an existing HVAC system with a Bosch 4-ton inverter packaged heat pump and added upstairs/downstairs zoning. The Concord homeowner found Galaxy through a rebate website and wanted heat pump heating and cooling with separate temperature controls for each floor.

The homeowner found Galaxy through a rebate website while exploring options to replace her existing HVAC system. She wanted a heat pump and zoning to give her more control over comfort on each floor.
We installed a Bosch packaged heat pump, model BRBA-48HWD1N-M18. The system combines electric heating and cooling in one outdoor cabinet and serves the home through ductwork. Its inverter compressor adjusts output as heating and cooling demand changes.
The zoning installation included motorized duct dampers, individual thermostats for the upstairs and downstairs areas, and the wiring and controls needed to coordinate the zones with the equipment. This arrangement allows different temperature settings for each floor within the system’s operating mode.
The project paired a new heat pump with more flexible temperature control, addressing both parts of the homeowner’s request.

Installation challenges and work performed

The installation required coordinating airflow and equipment controls so the two zones could call for heating or cooling through one shared system. The scope also included airflow testing, balancing, and commissioning.
