Galaxy Heating & Air Conditioning installed an American Standard heating and cooling system at an approximately 1,100-square-foot home in Concord. The customer contacted us on behalf of their father, requesting a replacement system similar to the existing Trane equipment, which the homeowner had been happy with.
The previous system consisted of a 12 SEER air conditioner and a gas furnace with a variable-speed blower. We offered American Standard as an alternative to the requested Trane brand and installed a 16 SEER2 inverter air conditioner, model 5HPL5024A1000A, paired with an 80% AFUE two-stage gas furnace, model S8V2B060M4PDBA.
The side-discharge outdoor unit provides a compact equipment profile. Its inverter operation allows cooling output to adjust with demand, helping maintain more consistent indoor temperatures. The new furnace combines two-stage heating with a variable-speed blower, retaining a feature the homeowner already appreciated while providing two levels of heating output.
The project focused on replacing the existing equipment with a modern system that matched the homeowner’s preferences for brand familiarity, variable-speed airflow, and a compact outdoor unit.

The customer requested an estimate on behalf of their father for replacement heating and cooling equipment at an approximately 1,100-square-foot home. The homeowner was satisfied with the existing Trane brand and wanted a similar replacement, including a smaller heating unit suited to the home.

Recommendation and why
We offered an American Standard system as an alternative to the homeowner’s requested Trane replacement. The selected equipment was a 16 SEER2 side-discharge inverter air conditioner, model 5HPL5024A1000A, and an 80% AFUE two-stage, variable-speed furnace, model S8V2B060M4PDBA.
This combination retained variable-speed airflow while adding inverter cooling and two-stage heating. These features allow the equipment to respond to changing comfort needs, while the side-discharge outdoor design provides a compact profile.
When my 84 year old father needed a new heating and air conditioning system in the beginning of July during the heat wave, I searched online for the best company and Galaxy heating and air was our first choice.
